The Alaska School Empowerment Program works with districts, schools, and Alaska Native Tribes to build systemic capacity for continuous school improvement through a three-year process.
While many clients opt for an abstract or symbolic representation of their work in logo development, the School Empowerment team requested a logo that, quite literally, reflected the beauty of the Alaskan landscape in bloom.
I chose to illustrate this mountain landscape featuring Alaskan poppies, one of the most northern-growing plants in the world, to represent how Alaska’s ecosystem of remote, rural school communities can continue to thrive under harsh conditions.
