“Precognition,” representing my MFA thesis exhibition, performed various ways in which embodied consciousness can reveal a level of perception which may dissolve the dichotomy between the Self, the networked landscape, and other individuals. The aim of this project is to understand the space after embodiment but before cognition as a means of experiencing inter-subjectivity with the external. The suits were wired to both bend sensors and LED circuits and communicated with eachother via Xbee radio technology. When one suit’s bend sensor was activated, the other suit’s LED circuit lit up in the same muscle group where the first suit was being activated. The LED wall, projections and soundscape were all modulated in real time through movements measured from two Kinects. Tech used: Max/MSP, Arduino, Blender, Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Xbee modules, Adobe Audition
