Role: Graphic designer, copywriter

One of the ways Region 16 Comprehensive Center’s Oregon team is building capacity in Native education is to change systemic practices that lead to the underrepresentation and misrepresentation of Native students. Federal reporting requirements lead to the erasure of many Native American students, particularly those who identify as Native and another race. This practice lumps them into a catch-all category, leading to the significant underrepresentation of Native students in Oregon schools.

Our Oregon team wrote a blog explaining Data Justice and why it’s so important for Native students everywhere. These posts promoted the blog across Region 16’s social media channels on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.
